Default The Complete Idiots Guide to PUGs

Over the past few days, the quality of people in the PUGs I have joined or formed has dramatically improved. This can largely be attributed to another thread in this forum deticated to PUGs, where I first got the idea for this tactic. Here is what you do:

1.) Go to an area or town where people wait to do missions or quests.

2.) In the public chat channel announce "Complete Idiot looking for group of other Idiots to help me screw up the mission (or quest)."

3.) Now wait. Announce it a few times, but don't spam it. You will slowly get invite/join requests from people and if you feel the need whisper them and ask "Are you an idiot too?" Put togather or join a balanced party.

4.) Start your mission and enjoy. Most of the people willing to join anyone claiming to be a complete idiot are laid back. Not only that, most of them are good, team work oriented players.

lol... that's a good way to filter out the people who are complete idiots and find the ones who are playing to have fun.

This is idiot thing is a good attention getter. With my elementalist, I've tried, "sexy red-head looking to be escortted through mission by strong men." Although, I don't think this has yielded me a few arrogant players. I'm gonna try it your way, I might get some good people!

It works. A similar strategy got me to do a Courthouse mission earlier when all I was doing was looking for a particular collector. Can't resist a sense of humor.

I'll go try it right now. I'll edit this message to post the result .

EDIT:
Didn't work.
I didn't know you could be an idiot and know that yourself.

what the original poster described is a great way to get idiots in your party who are guaranteed to fail the mission with their horrible playing

I would join for the hell of it. Sounds like fun, and a good way to meet other idiots!

I'd join these groups for loot/exp on missions that I've already done for the company haha.

I tried it in Elona Reach. And, no, it doesn't really work...

What DOES work is screaming out "primary monk LFG". People are starving for monks, and I deliver

Hmmmm, then maybe it's just the fact that I am a monk, and claiming to be an idot makes people question my sanity. This could make them extra nice.

I doubt they wanted to join your group because you said you were an idiot looking for other idiots etc etc...They were probably just running around inviting themselves to every group in sight.

I usually join parties almost at random, and it is a rare thing indeed to get stuck in a truly bad party.

We get to the king ( im just doing it for loot, already beat it ) and suddenly the leader of these other 5 yells " team strike! " and they ALL go afk and just sit down. They never moved again.

I've never had any major problems with PUG's. If you are repeatedly having problems, most likely you are part of that problem.

Thats not meant to be offensive, but you should take a look at what YOUR bringing to the PUG, if you join a PUG with such negative foresight in mind, the chances of failure increase from the outset.
